This place is a little gem that is positioned halfway between Vancouver and Jasper. My girlfriend and I like a lot of Brits were doing the Alberta/BC road trip and wanted somewhere between the camping and hotels that was a bit different!
Montana Hill is the answer!! Elaine cheerily came to greet us on arrival and showed us to the awesome cabins complete with perfectly kept hot tubs on the terrace.
Once we settled in we wandered up to the main farmhouse. I’m met by Alan….who immediately sorts me a beer and shows me around. Both Alan and Elaine are welcoming interesting and chatty folk!
The views from the farm are incredible. In two days we got a quick refresher lesson and horse ride, an ATV tour to twin lakes, taught how to milk a cow and ate like kings with the steak dinner being a holiday culinary highlight! Alan knows his BBQ and Elaine is a pro I’m the kitchen sort fresh bread and cake both days.
Seriously nothing is too much bother for these wonderful hosts. This place is unique and totally worth a visit. I bought one of their baseball caps so I can tell people of the experience when they ask where I got it!
Thanks and hope to visit again
